What is known as “relatives” beside those bonded to us by blood also include the important people we meet in life. Haku inherits the great Kekkei Genkai from his mother by blood, but because the villagers are afraid of war and hates the Kekkei Genkai that they keep it a secret until it’s discovered by his own father, who leads the entire village to kills his mother. A panic-stricken Haku unleashes the Kekkei Genkai and wipes out the entire population of the village. In a single night, Haku becomes a helpless orphan. Haku has no one until he meets Zabuza, a missing nun of Hidden Mist.

In the battle at the bridge in the Land of Waves, Haku blocks the Chidori for Zabuza. Zabuza stares at the fallen Haku and deliberately seems to show indifference, but when Naruto learns of Haku’s death and tells Zabuza of Haku’s loyalty to him, Zabuza breaks down.

Having lost both arms and holding his kunai in his mouth, the disabled Zabuza carves out a bloody path for himself. He kills Gato in the end, but falls himself in a pool of blood. In his last moment, Zabuza requests Kakashi to take him to Haku’s side. Snow starts falling from the sky. Zabuza believes that it is Haku crying for him and prays to join Haku in the afterlife.
